The Dark Side of Deadlines….

Most of us know that creating a deadline on a project is generally a good ideas as this gets people to push their limits in order to accomplish their goals. However, in some cases creating a deadline may just create a mess.

I am talking about deadlines in photo labs. Traditionally, photo labs let their clients know by when they must place their orders so as to have them delivered before the holidays. In the past, we also followed that custom.  However, over time we discovered that this often did more harm than good when we received a huge surge of orders at the very last minute.. sometiems more than we could handle. When this surge focused us to push back our deadline by a day or two, this left a bad taste in the mouths of some of our best clients.

This year we have decided to try something new. WE ARE NOT  announcing any deadlines, instead we have worked hard to add a live, in-house estimator where we show the current processing time based on our current volume. We encourage everyone to keep checking this and to please place your orders  sooner, rather than later. The estimator is located on your home page and gives a guideline to times on prints, posters and custom photo books.*

We hope this will eliminate the pressure from our side so we can focus on delivering the best product for the best price!

Sincerely,

Herman Klein -Director

*(The estimator does not give times for gallery wraps, greeting cards or Leather-Lux photo books)

Your Adoramapix order arrives on your doorstep. You open your door to find your package and  you  quickly run inside to open the box. You take out your amazing  10×10 photo book and immediately start “ooooohing” and “awwwing” over the craftsmanship and the beauty of the rich colors. When you think you’re day just can’t get any better.. .you pick up the box and head to the recycling area — when lo and behold there is something else rattling around in your box. You reach deep inside past the cardboard, past the wrapping and pull out something that just put a smile on your face. Ladies and gentleman — we give you a lagniappe’ for being a great customer. It’s a little token of our appreciation you will now find these in every package that arrives at your doorstep.

‘Tis the Season of Giving. What better way to give back as a photographer, than by giving someone your time and talent? Adoramapix is proud to be involved with Help Portrait which is set for tomorrow, Saturday, December 10, 2011. Help-Portrait is a global movement of photographers using their time, gear and expertise to give back to those in need.

Help Portrait was founded by Celebrity Photographer Jeremy Cowart. Tomorrow, photographers from around the world will be grabbing their cameras, finding people in need and taking their picture. When the prints are ready, the photographs get delivered.

Yes — it really is as easy as that.

This is about GIVING the pictures, not taking them. The portraits are not for portfolios, websites, or for sale.  This holiday season, we all  have the chance to give a family something they may have never had before—a portrait together. It’s as simple and as moving as that – a moment in time captured forever and lasting a lifetime.

Even if you are not available  tomorrow to take portraits, your donations are still needed. If you would like to donate please click Here.
